Stovetop Bread Pudding Varieties:

Overview

Use ½ loaf of tawa bread to prepare the following recipes.

Prepare each recipe first by cutting or tearing tawa bread into approximately 1 inch pieces.  Set aside.

Cinnamon Raisin Breakfast Pudding

Ingredients

  1. Tawa Bread
  2. 1 ¼ cup milk
  3. 2 teaspoons sugar
  4. 2 tbsp. chopped walnuts
  5. 1 tbsp. raisins
  6. ½ tsp. cinnamon
  7. Honey or maple syrup (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat milk and sugar in medium saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
  2. Add cut up tawa bread to milk and cook on med low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes
  5. Scoop pudding into medium bowl and top with walnuts, and raisins.
  6. Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if desired.

Delicious Bread Pudding with Cheese

Ingredients

  1. Tawa Bread
  2. 2 teaspoons sugar
  3. 2 slices cheddar cheese
  4. 2 teaspoons cream cheese

Directions

  1. Heat milk and sugar in medium saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
  2. Add cut up tawa bread to milk and cook on med low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Add 2 slices cheddar cheese and 1 ½  teaspoon cream cheese.
  4. Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes.
  5. Pour onto bowl and serve.

Banana Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  1. Tawa Bread
  2. 1 ¼ cup milk
  3. 2 teaspoons sugar
  4. ½  banana chopped
  5. Honey or maple syrup (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat milk in medium-sized saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
  2. Add bread and chopped banana to milk and cook on medium low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes.
  5. Scoop pudding onto bowl and top with chopped banana honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  6. Serve.

Date Bread Pudding

Ingredients 

  1. Tawa Bread
  2. 3-4 medium sized dates chopped

Directions

  1. Heat milk in medium- sized saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
  2. Add bread to milk and cook on med low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add chopped dates and stir.
  5. Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes.
  6. Scoop pudding onto bowl, top with honey or maple syrup and serve.
