Overview
Use ½ loaf of tawa bread to prepare the following recipes.
Prepare each recipe first by cutting or tearing tawa bread into approximately 1 inch pieces. Set aside.
Cinnamon Raisin Breakfast Pudding
Ingredients
- Tawa Bread
- 1 ¼ cup milk
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 tbsp. chopped walnuts
- 1 tbsp. raisins
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- Honey or maple syrup (optional)
Directions
- Heat milk and sugar in medium saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
- Add cut up tawa bread to milk and cook on med low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes
- Scoop pudding into medium bowl and top with walnuts, and raisins.
- Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if desired.
Delicious Bread Pudding with Cheese
Ingredients
- Tawa Bread
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 teaspoons cream cheese
Directions
- Heat milk and sugar in medium saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
- Add cut up tawa bread to milk and cook on med low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Add 2 slices cheddar cheese and 1 ½ teaspoon cream cheese.
- Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes.
- Pour onto bowl and serve.
Banana Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- Tawa Bread
- 1 ¼ cup milk
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- ½ banana chopped
- Honey or maple syrup (optional)
Directions
- Heat milk in medium-sized saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
- Add bread and chopped banana to milk and cook on medium low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes.
- Scoop pudding onto bowl and top with chopped banana honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Serve.
Date Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- Tawa Bread
- 3-4 medium sized dates chopped
Directions
- Heat milk in medium- sized saucepan on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on sides of pan.
- Add bread to milk and cook on med low heat for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- Add chopped dates and stir.
- Cover and let rest for about 2 minutes.
- Scoop pudding onto bowl, top with honey or maple syrup and serve.
